First meeting of the International Co-ordination of the MSC Laics of the Chevalier Family.

Referring to the decisions taken during the international meeting of Laics of the Chevalier Family, "ISSOUDUN 99", which took place last July, de first meeting

of the team of international co-ordination of MSC Laics was held at the Centre Alain de Boismenu in Miribel (France), November 27 and 28, 1999.

The team was composed of representatives representing the different European countries, namely:

Marie-Blanche CORDONIER from Switzerland, Stephani ORLOWSKI (Sour MSC) from Germany, Rita CLEUREN from Belgium, Sue KIMBERLEY from England, Father José-Maria ALVAREZ PEREZ, accompanied by Angeles FONDEVILA, who was recently elected as MSC Laic representative for Spain and Mimi VAN POPPEL from the Netherlands.

We have had the immense pleasure to welcome Father Michael CURRAN, MSC General.

In our prayers we have remembered our sister Miek O’PRINSEN from the Netherlands, who recently passed away and who was to join us. Her remembrance was very alive during our meeting. For many years she gave herself for the MSC Laics in her country and on the international level. May the Lord welcome her in His Heart.

The proposed agenda of the meeting had been discussed by the seven MSC Laics invited and present at the General MSC Chapter in Issoudun last September, namely:

Claire PERSONETTE from the USA, Milly Karmila SAREAL from Indonesia, Carmelo URDANETA from Venezuela, Margaret O’LOUGHLIN from Australia, Rita CLEUREN from BELGIUM, Gemma ARIA RATNASARI from Indonesia and Louis JOLY from France.

  1. we have concerned ourselves with the follow-up of the international meeting, especially regarding the work on the Charter, the list of the representatives of each country, who will ensure the contact with the international co-ordination, and our participation at the General MSC Chapter. We agreed on a translation of the Charter in English, Spanish and Dutch. Those translations will be the basis for further reflections in the different groups and countries.
  2. next we spent quite some time on the establishment of a "MSC Laics" page on the internet. This will be done at the Centre Alain de Boismenu. This web page aims at formation, sharing of experiences, the linking with the network of the continental co-ordinations to be established. It is a major choice aiming at supporting the establishment of a co-ordination per continent, putting at the disposal of all MSC Laics in the world the formation bases on spirituality, charisma and the life of Father CHEVALIER. This way we would like to answer the essential question: How to make the wealth of formation available at "COR NOVUM" accessible to all and to the entire world?
  3. A proposal as to this web site has been presented to all. A unit on "formation" would be based on the brochure regarding the "Spirituality of Heart", already realised in France by the Counsel of Laics of the Province France/Switzerland, with the texts made in collaboration with Father Jean Tostain. The site could also contain official texts (Generalcy of the MSC, of the FNDSC, of the Sisters MSC) regarding the branch "MSC Laics" of the Chevalier Family. A unit on "sharing experiences" would allow to exchange testimonies, and a unit "prayers" to communicate intentions for common prayers.

All information put at disposal on this site, has to be accepted by the international co-ordination, in dialogue with COR NOVUM.

  4. further we reflected on the finances, focussing on: How to finance the different
  5. co-ordinations and their work? We figured out the cost of having a web site established and also the cost necessary to cover all expenses related to the meetings of the co-ordination. The web site will be paid from the balance left from the "ISSOUDUN 99" meeting, however a letter will be sent to all countries in order to apply for everybody’s support for this work, according to the locally available possibilities. The establishment of the co-ordination requires the will and the support of all.

  6. we also spent some time to agree on a first distribution of tasks. Louis JOLY was

asked to continue de co-ordination of the team, taking also into consideration that the Centre Alain de Boismenu in Miribel is now the point of reference for the MSC Laics of the Chevalier Family. Rita CLEUREN accepted to be secretary, given her possibilities to translate between French and English. She will communicate the translated texts to Sue KIMBERLEY in England for her to verify and the ones to be translated into Spanish to Father José Maria ALVAREZ. Marie-Blanche CORDONIER accepted to make the reports of the meetings, in order to relieve the translators. For juridical reasons, it was asked that the accounting will continue to be kept by the Counsel of Laics of the Province France/Switzerland, as has been the case for the "ISSOUDUN 99" meeting. For the future we will have to reflect on the juridical reality of our co-ordination.

It has been a moment of intense sharing and communion, where, in spite of the handicap of the different languages, we have been able, with the help of Odile Thollin (member of the Communion Alain de Boismenu, who translated into Spanish and English), to whom we extend our gratitude, to work within the fraternal hearing and love.

Paths full of hope are open, for religious, laics and diocesan priests to proclaim jointly, in the respect of the intuition of our Founder, Father Jules CHEVALIER:

Beloved be everywhere the Holy Heart of Jesus!
